What’s cooler than a million check-in’s? A billion. FourSquare peeps pulled together a video of what a week of check-ins looks like. Cool stuff to see it visualized.

It’s probably not surprising to most of you that I love information graphics, data visualization…any image that let’s me quickly understand all of the numbers and data points that one usually finds in an Excel spreadsheet.
What can I say? I’m a visual person and it works for me, though I do realize that some people can look at an Excel spreadsheet filled with tons of formulas and numbers and get really excited about it. I can’t. I want to die when I see something like that.
But let’s be honest - information graphics, when done poorly, can make things even more confusing. In my happy little place inside my head, one should not really have to THINK when you see a good info graphic.
Today, PSFk highlights a pretty cool start-up that is taking the idea of data visualization to another level. Bloom wants to turn data vizualizations into “interfaces by enabling users to manipulate them in real time”, basically, the next level for interactive inforgraphics. Right now, the platform, Fizz, focuses on users Twitter, Facebook and InstaGram feeds and incorporates elements of game design, but they plan on extending the platform over time.
Definitely worth a look (and I strongly suggest you check it out after work, otherwise you might get distracted - for hours).
